Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
