Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents said the 45 charges include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
