Iran Reports Strike on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
