Similar to bad weather swept through the north-west the night before, the home side overwhelmed Manchester United aside at the Etihad. It was a convincing three-nil triumph for the City coach's side owing to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their leadership claims as they strengthened their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Defeats for Manchester United

This outcome represented consecutive WSL defeats for the United manager's side for the maiden instance since May 2024, putting them a significant margin off the league leaders with their championship aspirations hanging by a thread.
