Salah Extends Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Salah expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his recent interview.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a vital match following criticising the club and suggesting his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also implied that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “I understand there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and starting to win games.”
