Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in her final two events this season as a result of a medical condition she has been battling in recent days.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover ahead of launching next year's training.

Her upcoming training are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together again next season.

She required blood pressure checks in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the final set versus Zhu due to the lower back problem that has troubled her during parts of the season.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
