The former Liverpool manager says rejoining to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who departed from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that a future comeback is something that could happen. Klopp, after a transformative nine-year spell which brought a European Cup triumph and ending the club's long wait in 30 years, currently occupies roles as head of global soccer for Red Bull and providing guidance to Germany's league body.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won the Premier League in the previous campaign, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the notion of his potential comeback. In a wide-ranging interview, he told the podcast host: “I declared I will never coach a different club on English soil. So that means should it be the Reds...absolutely. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, so the choice could be mine later on, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about what circumstances would need to occur to draw him back to the dugout, he revealed he feels no immediate pull for a comeback. “It's unclear to me, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “I don't crave being a coach; I don’t miss standing under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for media briefings repeatedly each week or doing numerous chats weekly.

“No nostalgia for the changing area per se, yet sharing a meal alongside the squad having a nice chat, that’s nice. We won a lot of games so there was often a very good mood around the place. I can still hear Van Dijk's laughter in my ear as an instance.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, acknowledging his role for the adjustments which secured the championship in the previous season. The team has suffered four consecutive matches in every contest after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the suggestion that it might signal the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. He’s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, excellent performer. They have a strong well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Diogo Jota, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, along with the consequences at the club. Jota died tragically in a road accident alongside his brother recently.

“How do you replace a person like him? It’s not about his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the team environment without him in it. I find it difficult to discuss regarding this. It was an incredible shock for his teammates too. Not a single person would cite it as an excuse yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Dealing with that individually is not easy. Unbearable.”
